Training Weekend

This weekend one of my best human friend came back to play. Lucy my old trainer came back to do some classes and some 1 to 1 sessions. Friday night we did a class at Skellingthorpe. It was good as one of my old friends Benji was there, we met back in obedience class and hes a small to. It was fun as we were concentrating on tight turns and those collies are rubbish, they have long legs to cover the ground but us shortiescan turn much sharper. Lucy said we were her star pupils. On the Saturday I didn't go out to play with granny like I normally do, I had to stay in the house. But guess what when I did go out to play Lucy was in my field, and my mate Leo was there as well and I could smell loads of other doggy pals. I don't really know why, but I don't care, Lucy was in my field, my agility toys were out and that only meant one thing time for some fun.

We played for ages, loads of jumping and tunnels which went well. Then we did some contacts which I think I've got the hang of now. I keep doing handstands at the bottom of the A frame cos I come down so fast but I think I can cope with that now, it used to be a bit scary but now I'm expecting it its not so bad.

We finished off with some weaves. I LOVE weaves, I can do them real fast now so we started looking at the different entrances. I had to turn tight turns and run between jumps and the weaves were the other side of the field but I got it most of the time. So then Lucy set up a jump and kept making the entrance to the weaves tighter and tighter most of the time I got it. Everyone was so excited they kept wooping and shouting, Lucy said there weren't many grade 7 dogs that could do that, she event took some video of me. I was very proud of myself but it was very tiring and eventually I just had to slow down a bit.

There was lots of chatter as we walked back up to the house, talk of getting together a small team, and trying to enter some qualifiers next year, not sure what that means but I think I'll like it.

Mikey was playing with the camera while I was training so heres some of the results (Granny made the slideshow bit techie for Mikey)

RVA - End of the season

On Sunday we went to the East of England Showground to the RVA Autumn show. Its our last KC show but what a nice end to the year.

The sun shone and everyone was happy, I had three runs 2 jumping and an Agility. Jumping is my favourite so I was happy. All the runs went well and we came away with 2 rossettes a 3rd and a clear. Granny messed up the Agility (again!) it wqas funny when she realised, she should have rear crossed the dog walk but she didn't so I didn't have clue where to go. As I ran the top she must have realised as she looked up and said someting and the judge laughed. Didn't help she fell apart after that and I think I could have done well. Never mind she is getting on a bit and you humans seem to get a bit scatty as you get older!

So what a year 22 rosettes and 8 trophies, and this is just year one. Now its all over and I'm sad but apparently now the real work starts, so granny says, not sure what that means but hope its fun. Anyway apparently we're out again in a couple of weeks to Dog Vegas at Arena Uk, but its not KC so no more chance to climb a grade. I've had the best year ever and I can't wait for April, so bring it on. Start planning granny so we get in a many as possible.

Theres a rat in the Kitchen what am I going to do!!

Call Billy busters !! It official I am a lean mean killing machine. Well I killed a big one yesterday, it had the cheek to come into my garden and tease me. So I chased it up a pole where it sat laughing at me for a minute. But guess what I had the last laugh!
It hid for a while in the bush and granny got a broom and started wholloping the bush but it wouldn't come out. Then all of a sudden it broke cover and ran.....towards the open back door....granny screamed. So I shot towards in and that was it. I took it down the garden to show off to the neighbours but it tasted yucky, all hairy and nasty. Granny was all excited and kept telling me what a clever boy I was. Don't really know what all the fuss was about, in fact I'm not really sure what I did. It was just a big squeeky tuggy which needed a bit of a shake. It was a bit boring really didn't tug back or anything. Anyway I got loads of sausages for being such a hero.

Bring on the next one!!

I had a great Vegas

I've just realised Ihaven't told you all about my Vegas weekend. Where does the time go! anyway back to bank holiday weekend. The winning streak just kept on coming, I won four classes which was great everyone was really excited and pleased with me I got loads of treats and sweeties. Mummy came with us for two days which I really like so I tried especially hard and she was really pleased. I now have four new trophies sitting on the side. The first win was an Agility which really was a bit of a fluke I won on 10 faults which was incrediable granny said someothing about me being the only one not to get elimianted, but a wins a win. The other three were for Jumping great course just my style not to twisty and loads of running. Unfortunatley this show was to close to me winning out of grade 1, otherwise with 3 Jumping wins I could be grade 3 by now. I've still got 2 shows beofre the end of the season so you never know. But everyones so happy with me granny says now we just going to have fun. I thought thats all we did do!

Heres my winning rounds, the first vid is a bit fuzzy cos Mummy was just learning but she soon got the hang of it.

What a Weekend!

Have I had a weekend or what! it started early Friday morning when everything including mummy and her friend was bundled into the car. I didn't mind as it usually means we're up to some fun and I wasn't wrong. We spent ages in the car and when I got out everything was very odd, it looked like we should be at big horsey event as we were in a huge park but there were loads and loads of young people there. It looked like it could be fun but no sooner had we arrived we were off again. But mummy and her friend wasn't in the car, I shouted at granny that she'd left them behind but no one seemed to care. Apparently it turns out we were supposed to leave them behind. They were going to spend the weekend trudging about in mud and listening to music, everyone to thier own I suppose.

So off we went and guess what we went to Dashing Dogs a big Agility show near Chester. We didn't run any classes on Friday. So I had a good run in the exercise area then we went off to find the Bed and Breakfast. It was a real nice place Jackie and Brian looked after us really well and I made some nice new friends, and guess what I met Lola who I think would run as quick as I can, she was crazy but good fun. I liked it all, everyone made it a really nice weekend, granny and Mikey had a really good time so thanks guys.

But now the real stuff back to the competion. Did I do well, you bet. Day one didn't start to well I missed a contact and granny couldn't tell her left from her right and thougth I'd gone in the wrong side of the weaves and pulled me out, I was right so I guess that makes us equal. But the day ended really good with a clear round and a second. Day 2 loomed the sun was shining and I was ready to run. After a bit of a shakey start we finished the day with a 3rd and.......I won.....wooopeee dooooo. I'm a grade 2 dog. Oh no, just thought, better get granny to buy the cakes for the rest of my training budies. The day finished with a visit to the sea side, I love the beach. When we got back to the B&B we had a really good night but I was so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open, even when my new friends wanted me to play. I did managed to stir the cat a bit, well what can I say us Jack Russells have a reputation to uphold.

So all competed out Monday morning we headed back to the big park, something called the V Festivsal to pick up mummy and Katie and all thier stuff then back on the road and head for home. For the first 10 minutes granny talked and talked then it all went quiet and we slept all the way home.

Heres a few pics from the weekend, but guess what Mikey didn't video the winning round but never mind he was so pleased I'd won he got all emotional, he kept rubbing his eyes.

Kennel Club International

Friday saw us off in the car for a long trip. We seemed to be travelling for ever but it was worth it when we got there. We went all the way to Northamptonshire for an Agility competition. But it was worth going. We started off with the Starters Cup. I guess you can say it didn't go as well as it might. I knocked 2 poles down in the jumping, and missed the weave entry in the agility but I got my contacts and granny seemed pleased. I wasn't too keen on the man standing right next to the contacts I thought he was going to shout at me but he didn't so it wasn't too bad. We don't get to go to London but I didn't want to go anyway all that polution and noise.

It then started to rain and I hate rain so granny put me in the car for a sleep. I pulled the blanket over my head and settled down for a long snooze. Next thing I knew they're were back trying hard to encourage me from my favourite place, not a chance, it was still raining! but in the end I got out of the car. The next round was a jumping course which I like the best and this one seemed ok. But there was a problem the rain. So I decided to go quick and get it over with, and I went clear, woohoo in the placings I came 4th which granny was very happy with.

But what was best of all is I saw my best friend Lucy. I heard her shouting me so I pulled and pulled until granny let me go Iran like mad and launched up onto her arms. She said to granny she needed to have a go on a stand to win some dog food and do you know what she won a huge bag and Mikey won a liitle bag so it was worth going just for the yum yum.

Mikey also bought me a new toy, its great fun you put treats in the little holes and all I have to do is find them, easy. I'll get granny to video me showing you how easy it is.

Seems like we're off again next weekend but this time we're going right the way across the county to Dashing Dogs. This is so granny can be near mummy who's going to something called a festival. I can't wait bring it on!!

Dog Vegas weekend

Well everything started well. Thursday training was really good although I was a bit naughty to start with I did some really good stuff. Lucy let me stay and join in with the top dogs which was reall good fun. They do some tricky stuff but I managed most of it without much help. There was even one turn that the big dogs couldn't do but I could. Everyone was amazed, what they didn't know is the when we trained with that man with the funny bark (I think they called him Kenny) we trained this turn and we've practiced it down the field so I knew exactly what to do. I also did some really fast contacts, Mikey came and he was amazed how fast I was.
So Friday came and based on the night before we should have had done really well but granny didn't count on the fact that I have a mind of my own. I had a ball running around like a mad thing. 4 E's oops!
Saturday was a bit better. I had had a good talking to whatever that means, even mummy said I had to behave so I did try. But it just didn't work, I kept knocking down the poles and missing the contacts. 3 e's and a 20 faulter.
On Sunday mummy came with us. She hasn't been for ages and I wanted to show her what I could do, and at times it was really good. Lots of people said I would be really good when it came together. I just kept knocking down the poles, my times when I stayed on course where faster then all the winners.
I guess you can't win em all it just wasn't my weekend, but we had great fun and thats all that really matters. Bring on the next one.
